Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out by blog! My name is Laura Overs and I'm from the lovely Frederick, Maryland. I am 18 years old and I graduated from Thomas Johnson High School. Right now I'm working at a nursing home as nursing assistant and I absolutely love it. In the future i plan on becoming a nurse and at this point I'd like to work with children in wherever God leads me. God has poured blessings on me and seen me through any struggle. So it is with humility and joy that I come to serve Him in Nicaragua this coming year. Mother Teresa once said, "We cannot do great things on this earth, only small things with great love." Its my constant prayer to fill each day and every situation with the Love that only comes from Jesus, so that His glorious name will be known to all.

Now just a little more about myself, I love games and sports. My favorite sport to play is ultimate Frisbee and my favorite sport to watch is a toss up between soccer and pro football.  If I could take 3 things on a desert island, I would bring my bible, a standard deck of cards and chap stick. One of my goals in life is to be trilingual with Spanish, sign language and English. I love seeing new places and different cultures. I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve God in Panama and I just got back from my second trip to Biloxi, Mississippi. I love the beach, mountains, lakes, starry nights, cloudy days, rainy days sometimes, pretty much I really like the outdoors. I love just about all music, but I'm no singer. I'm always up for a new experience and I can't wait to meet everyone in September and to see what God had planned for us in Nicaragua!
