Every Wednesday our team spends the afternoon ministry time cleaning up trash on the street where the AIM base, El Puente, is located. Thrash cans are not very common on Granada and even if they were, no one uses them. Therefore there is litter up and down every street. So Wednesdays our team attemps to bring to light this problem by picking up the litter for a few

hours. In doing so, the kids who live on the street join in and we pick up trash and play together. For six weeks we have gotten to know these particular eight kids well. Though we begin and end the trash pick up with group prayer, God put in on my heart and the hearts of my teammates to further share His love with our new street friends.

After prayer and planning, we started a childrens ministry after the trash clean up. So Wednesday we told the kids who were helping clean up trash to go and get any cousins, friends, sibblings, whoever, and to meet at the soccer field (its on the same street) in 5 minutes. Believe it or not that is the best way to get kids there. Punctuality and scheduled activies just is not the way most people here function. Also, if the kids are not at school, there is not very much for them to do, so they are always willing to come out and play.
We ended up having about 20+ kids. To start off we played ¨hug tag´ which is a fun game we learned at Vida Joven. Then with all of the adorable kids sitting in a circle, I gave a brief, kid friendly message about how God wants to give us a hug beacuse he loves each one of us so very much. I also told them about praying and after we sang ¨Jesus Te Ama¨(Jesus Loves Me) we all prayer together.
It was a precious and fun time and are going to continue this ministry. Me and the 2 other girls who planned this have some bigger plans to teach the kids more and to get more of the community involved.
I am forever amazed by God´s plans. We started with the intention of cleaning litter, and He forms it into sharing the Gospel with His children. This verse had been powerful to me this week:
¨I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful. I know that full well¨
-Psalm 139:14

And one more exciting thing to share- Our soccer team is going to the championships! ¡Ole! We won our game last week 1-0 and now this week 2-0! We still haven´t been scored on either. It is a true underdog story beacuse we started out in last place and have progressed from there. Coaching is a really fun ministry for me and I´m excited to see what will happen at championships.
