We just wrapped up a beautiful and renewing week at the island of Ometepe. Our week consisted of getting to know the children who live at the orphanage, Cicrin. With our new friends we played soccer, hung out in hammoks, watched the sun set, swam in Lake Nicaragua, hiked the volcano Maderas, relaxed around a campfire and worshiped together at their Sunday church service. It broke my heart to say good-bye to such amazing new brothers and sisters in Christ after just one week together, but it is my hope and prayer to keep in touch with them and for our team to visit Ometepe at some point second semester.
Tomorrow is the big day- I am coming home! I fly from Managua to Panama City (a bit out of the way right?) and then from Panama to DC. If all goes well I should be home by midnight. Excitement and eagerness are overwhelming me at the moment. I can not wait to see you all over the break. There is so much to be said about these past three months that is hard to communicate through blogs, so I look forward to telling stories over hot chocolate and cookies :)
