For the past 2 Mondays, our team has
spent the afternoons doing ATLs. ATL stands for Ask The Lord. For
ATLs we split up into teams consisting of 4 or 5 people each. The
purpose of an ATL is to really listen to what God is trying to tell
us to do. We start off in silent prayer, and continue to pray until
we have some guidance from God for our time. Sometimes, a team mate
will have a vision while praying or hear a voice or just get a desire
to go to a certain place. This past Monday, after 20 minutes of
prayer, we had no real guidance for what to do. Our bellies were
hungry so we thought maybe we could go and get some food. We had just
read Acts and could envision Paul preaching in the center of town also.
With this in mind, my team of 5 went to Central Park,
which is about a 5 minute walk from our house.

A lonely looking man
siting on a park bench caught our eye. The two boys in our group perused a conversation with
him while myself and the other 2 girls on my team prayed for their
conversation. The boys found that the man was hungry. So our team
went to Tip Top, a chicken fast food restaurant, and ordered about 5
meals. With the food we went back to the man on the park bench. We
gave him a chicken meal, and sat on the ground in front of him while
we also ate our food. Without a doubt this caught the attention of
several people in the park. Within a few minutes, we were surrounded
by 15 people, who were also hungry. While some of us acted as
hostesses (I am experienced haha) and gave away food, others shared
the gospel with the people listening. We gave away 2 bibles as well.
After the food was gone, and we had shared the Good News, we prayed
with a few of the people remaining, then returned home. Through trust
and obedience God blessed our day and the people we were able to
minister too. I look forward to our next ATL and seek to hear God's
voice everyday.
